Townsend EPX

The upscale bistro features a seasonal menu and innovative twists on classic dishes. It’s modern ambiance, reminiscent of a Parisian bistro, adds to the romance. Townsend EPX reopened in South Philadelphia in late 2021 after a two-year hiatus with an all prix fixe menu, highlighting seasonal, locally-sourced French fare. Townsend EPX currently offers a five-course chefs tasting menu & a smattering of spring-forward à la carte offerings along with a bevy of expertly curated craft cocktails by Proprietor and Chef Townsend Wentz.

A perfect spot for a pre-dinner cocktail or a late-night rendezvous, Townsend’s polished Cherrywood bar is a favorite with locals and industry insiders alike. Serving cocktails grounded in classic technique, our bar staff collaborates to bring balanced and layered drinks through an elevated understanding of the ingredients within. With twelve eclectic wines by the glass and on tap, Townsend’s bar was #4 in Philadelphia Magazine’s 50 Top Bars 2015. Full dinner service is available at the bar during dining hours, as well.
